Maria Herrera is originally from Venezuela, where she earned her degree in dentistry. She completed a residency in general dentistry and later pursued advanced training in an Oral Surgery postgraduate program, gaining extensive hands-on experience in surgical procedures.

Maria also worked alongside her mother in their family-owned private practice, which specialized in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics, where she served as a general dentist providing comprehensive care to patients of all ages. Her passion for the field developed early and naturally, inspired by her parents, who are both dentists.

After moving to the United States in 2018, Maria continued working in dentistry and soon developed a deeper interest in whole-body, comprehensive patient care.
Her journey into orofacial myofunctional therapy began through continuing education courses focused on airway health. She became especially interested in the powerful connection between oral function and overall wellness.

Maria is a certified Orofacial Myologist through Neo-Health Services. She works with both children and adults, offering thorough evaluations for tongue ties and personalized therapy plans to address oral dysfunction.

Maria is passionate about raising awareness of the long-term impact of tethered oral tissues and poor oral posture. Maria believes that proper tongue and jaw posture can be the missing link in addressing a wide range of symptoms, including sleep apnea, mouth breathing, snoring, anxiety, fatigue, bedwetting and more.

Maria’s goal is to empower individuals through neuromuscular re-education of the oral and facial muscles to improve not only oral function but total body health. Maria offers her services in both English and Spanish, with options for in-person or virtual care, making therapy accessible and convenient for patients near and far.
